Case Study: Sakebana Product shoot

Saehwan, the founder of Terranamdo Drinks came to me requesting some new imagery for his website, to refresh the product pages for two of his products; Sakébana and Shozu. Saehwan told me that Sakébana was inspired by the word ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. Yet in the context of the drink, Yuzu places a key part and is often described as having floral notes. Given that Sakébana is a yuzu juice based Saké spritz, it was key to make a connection between these two things. Given that it was also not possible to source the key flavours from each bottle (Yuzu, Umé and Asian peach), a literal expression of the flavour was not an option.

Saehwan said he would like a paired back, neutral, scandi-toned, elegant look for this batch of imagery, so I came up with some ideas and sent over a mood board. We sourced neutral toned backdrops and natural props including dried flowers, rocks and wood. Given that this shoot was remote, we kept in contact via phone, email - and Pinterest! Communication is key when planning a remote shoot, and I like to plan with lots of time when lots of props are arriving from different places.

I will share a selection of my favourite images from the shoot below, and you can see these images live on the Terranamdo website, here. If you do have any questions or would like to know more about remote shoots, just drop me a message here. I’d love to hear from you.
